Sunday night belonged to the Pokémon cards a lot of us actually pulled. Fanatics Collect's 250th Weekly Auction and Goldin's TCG Weekly closed within hours of each other on November 1, and the top of both boards was cards from 2002 to 2007: e-Card holos, Gold Stars and a World Championships prize card. Prices include buyer's premium. Signals, not appraisals.
1 — 2002 Pokémon Expedition Holo Mew #19, PSA 10: $528,000

$528,000 with buyer's premium, 38 bids, sold Sunday, November 1, per Fanatics Collect's lot page (Weekly Auction #250, Lot 17311). The slab reads 2002 Pokemon Expedition #19 Mew–Holo, PSA GEM MT 10, cert 41168568. Fanatics lists a PSA 10 population of 27.
Expedition was the first e-Card set, the WOTC-era run built around Nintendo's e-Reader strips along the card edge. That run is having a moment: two weeks ago a PSA 10 Aquapolis Crystal Lugia sold for $360,000 in the same weekly auction, per ComicBook.com.
AOM signal: A $528,000 Mew on a pop of 27 says buyers are paying for the e-Card era itself, not one scarce card. Pop 27 is thin, but it isn't one-of-one, so the next copy will tell us whether this price is repeatable. Our EX-Era Record Board lines up the whole night.
2 — 2004 Pokémon World Championships No. 2 Trainer Trophy Pikachu, CGC Pristine 10: $488,000

$488,000 ($400,000 winning bid, 113 bids), per Goldin's lot page (TCG Weekly Auction Oct 21 – Nov 1, Lot #1000). Bidding was set to end Sunday at 9:00 PM CST; extended bidding ran this lot to 1:44 AM CST Monday. The CGC label reads No. 2 Trainer, Pokémon (2004), Pokémon World Championships, Holo, Pristine 10, cert 6252999002.
Goldin calls 2004 the first Pokémon World Championships and says these cards went to top finishers across age divisions. Its description says just three versions of this No. 2 Trainer card were produced, that this is the highest-graded copy in CGC's census, and that PSA's census lists only four Trophy Pikachu cards from the 2004 event, including a single PSA 9 No. 2 Trainer. The card itself reads: "If you won this card at the 2004 Pokémon Trading Card Game World Championships, you may return to battle the best in 2005."
AOM signal: 113 bids is the tell. Prize cards don't trade often, so when one surfaces in a weekly auction, the whole trophy crowd shows up at once. New to these? Trophy Pikachu, explained covers the 1997–98 Japanese originals. And "Pristine 10" is not the same thing as "10"; here's why.
3 — 2006 Pokémon EX Dragon Frontiers Gold Star Charizard #100, PSA 10: $408,000

$408,000 with buyer's premium, 54 bids, sold Sunday, November 1, per Fanatics Collect's lot page (Weekly #250, Lot 17841F1). The slab reads 2006 Pokemon Gold Star #100 Charizard–Holo, EX Dragon Frontiers, PSA GEM MT 10, cert 22869303. Fanatics lists a PSA 10 population of 98. (The lot's title says 2003; the label and the lot's Year field say 2006.)
In September, a PSA 10 of the same card sold for $393,000 at Alt, per ComicBook.com. We can't confirm whether it's the same copy.
AOM signal: Two public PSA 10 results about seven weeks apart, $393,000 and then $408,000. On a pop of 98, that's a band forming, not a spike. Our Gold Star record board has the rest of the family.
Also this week
- More from Fanatics Weekly #250 (all Nov 1, buyer's premium included): a 2007 POP Series 5 Espeon Gold Star in BGS 10 Pristine at $384,000 (51 bids); a 2005 EX Emerald Reverse Holo Rayquaza PSA 10 at $384,000 (26 bids); and a 1999 Base Set 1st Edition Shadowless Chansey PSA 10 at $288,000 (33 bids).
- Same card, same night, two prices: a PSA 10 2006 Holon Phantoms Gold Star Mewtwo sold for $228,000 at Fanatics (29 bids) and another for $207,400 at Goldin (71 bids). A $20,600 gap between two Gem Mint copies within an hour is why one sale is never a price.
- A cooler print on Crystal Lugia: a PSA 10 Aquapolis Crystal Lugia brought $240,000 (47 bids). ComicBook.com reported two PSA 10s at $360,000 in October.
- Reported, not ranked: SI Collectibles reports a 2017 Panini Flawless Kobe Bryant Logoman Auto /1 (PSA 9 / Auto 10) sold privately for $4.2 million, publicly reported by Secure Collectibles but not yet verified by Card Ladder. No public lot, so it stays off the board. The same SI piece says Card Ladder tracked $1.07 billion in card sales for October 2026, the first month over $1 billion.
