On September 16, 2026, Pokémon celebrated three decades of that exact feeling with 30th Celebration — the first TCG set in history to launch simultaneously worldwide. No more watching Japan open packs six months early. Everyone ripped at once.

What's in the set
- Each pack: 5 foil cards + 1 foil Basic Energy + 1 TCG Live code card. One of 30 Pikachu Rares is guaranteed per pack — one for each year of the franchise. Yes, people are chasing the full 30. Yes, we're tracking which ones run hot.
- 128 main-set cards; trackers count 199 total including secret rares and the 30-card Classic Collection (Bulbapedia), Serebii)
- Classic Collection: 30 gold-border reprints, not Standard-legal — eligible only in formats that allow the original prints (official)
- Futuristic Rare: the new rarity tier by YOSHIROTTEN — Mewtwo ex (157/128) and Mew ex (158/128)
- No standard English hobby booster box. The Booster Bundle (6 packs, Oct 2) is the closest thing — factor that into per-pack math before you pay pack premiums.

The Futuristic Rare situation
The set introduces a brand-new rarity tier: Futuristic Rare — chrome, abstract Mew and Mewtwo art from Japanese designer YOSHIROTTEN (GamesRadar+, Wargamer). The Mewtwo ex (157/128) looks like it was rendered on a PS2 dev kit that achieved enlightenment.
Half the community says it's the ugliest chase card in years. The other half is quietly pre-ordering. We've seen this movie before — a new rarity gets torched on day one, then eighteen months later everyone pretends they always loved it. We're not telling you which side wins. Classic Collection reprints
Thirty reprints spanning three decades ride along in the set, including Base Set Charizard and Pikachu & Zekrom-GX, plus new Espeon/Umbreon and Greninja/Sylveon ex cards (Pokemon.com). The pricing scandal, briefly
GameStop listed ~$50 ETBs at $129.99–$169.99 and UPCs as high as $600 before backlash forced repeated cuts (Kotaku, Engadget). EB Games Australia did the same and called it "anti-scalper" pricing. Signal tracker
Search velocity climbing into a third spike, bigger than the announcement and reveal spikes. Pre-order asks on UPCs holding at 3–4x MSRP. No confirmed print-run data yet — that's the variable that decides everything, and anyone who claims to know it is guessing.

Will the 30th anniversary have a booster box? No. There is no standard English hobby booster box in the official lineup. The Booster Bundle (6 packs, $26.94, Oct 2) is the closest thing and the lowest list price per pack.
Will it have god packs? Unconfirmed. Japan-style god packs are rumored for the JP print. Treat every "confirmed god pack" video as engagement bait until The Pokémon Company says otherwise.
